Wharton Arboriculture Ltd Staff Profiles

Peter Wharton BSc (Hons)., M.Arbor.A

Peter is the Managing Director and principal consultant at Wharton Arboriculture Ltd and currently holds an Honours Degree in Arboriculture from the University of Central Lancashire. Peter is a professional member of the Arboricultural Association, International Society of Arboriculture, Consulting Arborists Society and an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Foresters.

He is a qualified and licensed user of Quantified Tree Risk Assessment (QTRA) and a member of the Arboricultural Mortgage and Insurance Users Group (AMUG). Peter has successfully undertaken and passed the Lantra Professional Tree Inspection assessment.

Previously he has been a board/committee member of the Midlands Tree Officer Association (MTOA) and currently sits on the Arboricultural Associations Media and Communication Committee. Peter has 10 years experience within the arboricultural industry as a climbing arborist, local authority tree officer and arboricultural consultant.

Outside of work Peter enjoys many outdoor activities including playing rugby, hill walking, kayaking and spending time on the allotment with his young family.

James Dunn HND, M.Arbor.A

James shares his time between working for Wharton Arboriculture and a Local Authority. James currently holds a HND in Arboriculture from University of Central Lancashire and is a professional member of the Arboricultural Association.

James has worked for a variety of Councils both within the planning departments and local services areas, which has given him an in depth knowledge of TPOs, tree law, trees and development and the management of large number of trees.

His previous appointments have provided experience in undertaking tree surveys, making appropriate judgements in relation to tree management and delivering the results of such surveys within a professional framework.

After a hard week at work James enjoys relaxing and socialising in his local pub and watching international rugby.
